Caitlyn Collins – a Certified Professional Midwife (CPM) is a knowledgeable, skilled and professional independent midwifery practitioner who has met the standards for certification set by the North American Registry of Midwives (NARM) and is qualified to provide the Midwives Model of Care. Caitlyn has recently registered with the South African Traditional Doctors Union as a traditional birth attendant. She is a WOMBS trained doula since 2006.
She is passionate about being current with the latest research pertaining to midwifery care, is a firm believer in informed choice so that each woman and family can be empowered in the journey to becoming parents. She sees pregnancy, labour, birth and mothering as sacred events in a woman’s life. Part of being a midwife for Caitlyn is to encourage a trusting and loving connection with our bodies. She facilitates compassion tutorials with medical students from UCT and is a director at the Compassionate Birth Project, working with state employed midwives. She has completed an externship in Emotional Focused Therapy (EFT) and is currently busy with a bridging bachelors degree in Midwifery.
She is a very happy mother of 2 boys and a girl and finds her children are her biggest teachers.
